About Us

We began our Picard journey in 2016, after meeting and falling in love with several beautiful, happy, Berger Picard’s at dog shows. At the time, we had an Irish Wolfhound and were quite taken by the “scruffy,” coarse haired breeds. Who could resists those adorable ears? Trips was the first addition to our gang in “The Backwoods Texas”. After completing his conformation to Grand Champion, we found a local herding coach and began the next chapter…HERDING!

Trips herding in Bertram, TX

Herding is one of the most challenging and rewarding performance activities. In this sport, the targets move and have a mind of their own! The dog and handler are akin to a well synchronized dance team. Communication and mutual respect are the keys. For novice teams, the learning curve can be somewhat steep, but beware, it is addicting.

We decided to become Picard breeders and have started slowly and carefully, with a well seasoned co-breeder as a mentor. Our first liter out of our lovely girl Claire gave us Partner. Partner finished his conformation championship and will be back herding this spring. ring and on the herding field soon. Partner

Our latest addition is from another seasoned breeder, meet Joplin (pictured with Uncle Trips).
